Sea Turtle Conservation Tour

Our Sea Turtle Conservation Sailing Tour departs from Zakynthos on May 29th and ends at Lefkada Marina on June 2nd.

Our journey starts in Zakynthos, where we will talk with the scientists responsible for protecting the the nesting sites of the Loggerhead sea turtles. We will visit the Lagana nesting site and learn about the huge impact these conservation efforts have had for this amazing species.

We will then go for a few days to Ithaca where we will dive and meet the representatives of Healthy Seas and Ghost Diving. They will show us the area of devastation, where an abandoned fish farm was left there for a decade to destroy marine life, pollute beaches and cause a lot of problems to the local community. In an amazing 8 days project, with many volunteers and professionals, they managed o remove 76.000 kilos of metal structures, styrofoam, plastics and lots of nets!

On Kalamos we will meet a group of inspirational people who are working on a project to bring drinking water to the island, so that they can stop importing plastic water bottles.

Somewhere on a deserted beach we will do a beach cleanup, and we will finish our trip with a wine tasting experience of the wonderful wines of Lefkada!
